Keith is the author of three books and a contributor to six other books. His latest book, Beyond the Down Low, immediately shot to the New York Times best-seller list when it was first released in 2005. It was re-released in paperback in 2006. Library Journal described the book as "a riveting read that deserves the widest audience."

His highly acclaimed first book, One More River to Cross, has been used in college and graduate school courses throughout the country. His second book, Respecting the Soul, won the 1999 Lambda Literary Award for Spirituality.

Keith is currently working on his fourth book, which he plans to finish in 2008.
