As I was setting my DVR to record the Oscars for Sunday, I noticed a problem. I have too much stuff recorded on my DVR.
The DVR gives you 35 hours of space, which seems like a lot until you've had it for a few years and you realize they don't have a way to transfer what you've saved to a DVD or a videotape.
My DVR is clogged with old media appearances, going back to American Candidate in 2004. So I decided to erase some of the old clips that I already have saved on my computer. In the process, I also decided to put some of my clips into a media reel (shown above).
The media reel was made on Windows Movie Maker, which I didn't know I had until my tech-savvy friends told me about it. Meanwhile, if anyone knows how to transfer video from a DVR to a computer, please let me know.

Well I missed the Oscars, but I did make it to Hollywood. I heard about all the parties from Nathan, who has spent the past week in Los Angeles.
And now I'm out in Los Angeles today to tape an episode of the Tyra Banks Show. We're going to be talking about three places where it's still very difficult to be "out."
The first is in pro sports. The second is in hip hop. And the third is in religion. I don't know when the episode will air, but I will be sure to let you know once I find out.

Who knew it was so easy to get a spot in a Gucci ad? Apparently all you have to do is make it up yourself.
That's what a man in Switzerland did. He had a photo taken of himself for a fake Gucci ad and then convinced a Swiss publication called SonntagsZeitung to run the ad. And then, get this, he had the $50,000 charge billed to Gucci. Now that's ballsy.
The two-page spread went to press and Gucci was billed for it. That's when Gucci let the paper know it wasn't theirs.
A spokesman for the Swiss weekly apologized to Gucci. "We're going to try and get the money back from this guy, but we don't rate our chances," he said.
The fake model's name was not reported to the media, but he shouldn't be too hard to find. He is on the ad, after all. Meanwhile, he's also under investigation for other forms of fraud, according to Towleroad.
