Democrats Win Montana;
Webb Still Leads In Virginia;
Rumsfeld Resigns From Pentagon

President Bush speaks at post-election press conferenceThe Associated Press is now reporting that Democrat Jon Tester has defeated incumbent Republican Conrad Burns to be the next senator from Montana. That gives the Democrats 50 seats in the 100-member U.S. Senate and only one vote away from the majority. All eyes now turn to the Virginia race, where Democrat Jim Webb leads incumbent Republican Senator George Allen in a race where almost 100 percent of the vote has been counted. As of 12:50 this afternoon, Webb led Allen by 8,123 votes.

In related news, the Democrats scored their first victory against the Bush Administration when Donald Rumsfeld resigned as Secretary of Defense. At a 1 p.m. press conference, President Bush acknowledged that he had planned to replace Rumsfeld as early as a week ago but had lied to reporters when asked about it. But when pressed about the misinformation by a reporter at today's press conference, Bush seemed to contradict himself by saying "No I did not know" because he had not met with Rumsfeld's replacement.

I'm elated, but the President is appearing a bit angry.

GOOD RIDDEN ... I AM SOOO GLAD THE DEMOCRATS ARE IN CONTROL NOW!!! BUSH IS ALL FOR THE WAR BUT I DON'T SEE HIS DAUGHTERS OR NEICES AND NEPHEWS SERVING INTHE WAR...THE REPUBLICAN THINK THAT WE ARE NOT SOO SMART. THE RETARDICANS ARE JUST NARROW MINDED AND GREEDY HORRIBLE PEOPLE.

IT'S ABOUT TIME WE, AMERICANS WISED UP!!!

...and they all fall down.

Hopefully, the American government will take a much more positive turn come January. And the House is now in the hands of a woman for the first time ever. It will be great to watch history unfold.

Bush all but stated "don't believe a word I say during an electoral campaign" AND he seemed surprised that anyone would expect him to tell the truth when answering a question in an election season. He doesn't have to worry, since he is now an official lame duck, we will be caring much less whatever drivel he is talking about in the future.

He was forced to explicitly admit (to a roomful of reporters) that he had lied to the press last week when he was asked about the fate of Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld and Vice President Cheney. Bush did NOT have to lie; he could have just restated his previous support for Rumsfeld and Cheney without explicitly claiming they would be in office until 2009--I believe that chutzpah might have energized Independent and Democratic voters to send an even stronger message to the President.

Bush' lie (contradiction) epitomizes exactly why the Republicans got ousted. They have lied and covered up their misdeeds for far too long. They thought the American public would continue to fall for their tomfoolery and trickery. Wrong. Goodbye. Good riddance.

Too bad the Presidential election wasn't yesterday.

Now this was welcomed news. Maybe there is a silver lining. While the Dems do their song and dance investigations and "reforming" social programs, us die heart capitalists can still make some money with the door open. I love being an america...even when your party loses there's still opportunity to get rich in defeat. Let me call my broker. I hope Nancy and the gang do some good gridlocking for the remainder 2 year.

AP - Stocks turned positive Wednesday as Wall Street grew more confident that a huge victory by Democrats in congressional elections would result in gridlock and keep lawmakers on the sidelines out of the way of business interests.

I am loving all of this right now. If anyone watched the news conference, Bush looks like he is disintergrating in front of our eyes. I cant wait until the Democrats come back in January, because we are going to see more alcoholic drug antics from this president.
