Jim Webb at election night rally

Almost 24 hours after the polls closed on election day, the tally has finally been counted. The Associated Press and NBC News are both now reporting that Democrat Jim Webb has defeated Republican Senator George Allen, thus giving the Democrats 51 seats in the Senate and control of the entire U.S. Congress for the first time in 12 years.

The news just keeps getting better! The defeat of this racist is almost as good as the defeat of the homophobe Rick Santorum.

Nyah Molineaux

Yes this is a good day. Rick Santorum the homophobe is gone; the racist bitch Allen is gone; and the old guy who look like he need to be in a nursing home Conrad Burns is gone.

These last two years of the Bush administration is going to be a great time. Impeachment!!!!!!!!!!!!

what an amazing 24 hours--Pelosi, first woman speaker, also the first Muslim was elected, Mass. gets first black governor, Rumsfled resigns, and the dems take house and senate--downside--7 or the 8 states with amendments against gay marriage pass--we still have work to do, but we have people to work with now in ways that weren't possible just a day ago---i want to thank keith for his public works--pieces in the puzzle and we can all make a difference--never forget this

On what grounds does any have to Impeach Bush that is valid?

Steve

There are many grounds to impeach Bush. Whether or not we want to remove him and put Cheney in the drivers seat is a better question.

Am I the only person with a twinge of doubt about this election? I mean, the Dems barely squeaked it out. Granted, close is as good as a mile, however, I worry that people were voting for the wrong reasons (primarily to bitch slap the whitehouse) and that come the next election 2 years from now, will go right back to their old pattern.

We have two years to make something happen. Let's make it good.

One step forward. (Democrats have majority in House & Senate). One step back.(Just about half of the States have passed anti-gay amendments). Democrats as a political party have not embraced gay rights as a core civil right issue. We must get them to do this.

It has been quite a month! So many scandals! So many people either being outed or coming out.Bill Maher was on Larry King Live last night and outed Ken Mehlman. It appears that CNN has edited the portion of the Larry King Live. You can view this missing portion on YouTube.

Also, Wikipedia has already updated their Ken Mehlman page (this is where I got the You Tube link from).

UNITE IN THE FIGHT FOR CIVIL RIGHTS

I don't expect the new Democratic majority to take us anywhere near the Left. There are so many conservative Democrats now! I don't expect any progressive legislation over the next two years, hell, maybe not the next twenty years. But that's all right 'cause all the chairmanships (and of course, the Speaker of the HOuse) will be all Hardcore Liberals (except Lieberman). I just want them to punish that son-of-a-Bush for all his lying and deceit and bringing this world closer to mass destruction--not to mention stealing two presidential elections.

And even though we did get rid of all that nasty Santorum here in Pennsylvania, I'm afraid our new senator has the personality and intellect of a Republi...I mean, turtle. But everybody can't have a Russ Feingold as their senator.

bubba

Hell, impeach Bush, then Cheney, and put Pelosi in the driver's seat.

its a shame everything is gay or stra8 now. Cant even be called bi no more. Sad everyone has resorted to outting other people.....but that evangelist got exposed on his own fualt.
