As expected, the New York tabloids had a field day with the Michael Strahan divorce story this morning. The New York Post reported that Strahan says he'll never marry again. During a brief phone call to WBLS/107.5 FM radio personality Wendy Williams yesterday, Strahan denied allegations made by his wife that he is gay, but he did indicate he is gay friendly. "I have plenty of friends that are bi or homosexual. It's fine with me. This is New York City. If you can't accept people for being people, then you have no business being here." Strahan added, "I don't frown on anybody for that lifestyle, it's not my lifestyle."
The Post reported that Strahan is now dating "America's Next Top Model" winner Eva Pigford. Meanwhile, the New York Daily News snapped a photo of the Giants' defensive end jogging with Dr. Ian Smith's twin brother Dana yesterday. The News ran a front page story in which Strahan's wife now says her husband is not gay.

Even if he was gay it wouldn't do me no good. Y'all tell me that DL guys can't stand queens so I couldn't get a feel of those beefy muscles anyway. Po' queens, don't nobody want us. But tell me something--how come pretty guys are never accused of being gay. Why can't pretty mens like Duse Staley or Michael Vick be on the DL or gay? Not that it would do me any good, but the visual images I could conjure up.
And as far as that "a woman scorned shit" A woman scorned will just try to get you back. A man scorned will try to kill your ass.

EVA PIGFORD?!!!! you've got to be shitting me!!!
okay, just how far down does this rabbit hole go??? wasn't eva the one who put her "ex-boyfriend" henry simmonds' "alleged" homosexuality on blast?? i've got to put damnnear everything in quotes, 'cause i can't believe anything anybody says.
this is like watching a soap called Six Degrees Of Tyler Perry - with only eight people in the cast. where's johnny gill?? where's al reynolds??

micheal vick pretty ??? i dont think so.... well dr ian was on the tom joyner morning show, and explained the story.
i wonder some times, why normal every day things are considered gay when black men do them but not when white men do them. when i lived n a one bed room, i had alot of str8 people come over and sleep on my floor couch etc.... when my family visited, we slept in the same bed, and never has anything happened.
to think of how many time my best str8 and same gender friend have stayed over when having relationship problems are way to many to count. so i think she is just a bitter woman looking to get more money than the 6 million in her pre nupt.

LOL! Using Eva Pigford as his new girlfriend isn't the best idea. One of the contestants from her season of Top Model said she admitted to being bi-sexual and everyone already thinks she was dating Missy Elliot last year. Missy even gave her a shout out in one of her singles.

All right, Nat: I just did a search of images of Michael Vick. Well, he may not be a classic beauty to you, but you have to admit, from the neck down he's superb. I was gonna' mention Don McNabb, but I knew some of y'all would have said something negative about his huge lips which to me are delicious--they're even more lucious than Vin Diesel's. Lord, now I got to clean this drool off my keyboard. Let's change the subject to politics.

NEWARK, N.J. - A domestic violence complaint against New York Giants star Michael Strahan was dismissed Thursday, days after he filed for divorce.
The complaint stemmed from a March 10 argument over money between Strahan and his wife, Jean, at their Montclair home. Judge Thomas Zampino ruled the argument did not involve physical violence, but not before Jean Strahan testified about other fights.
In often tearful testimony, she described past instances in which she claimed the defensive end physically abused her, including several times when he choked or punched her.Michael Strahan denied the abuse accusations. He filed for divorce Monday.
Jean Strahan said that this month she and her husband argued after he noticed on an online bank statement that she had transferred nearly $1.7 million from one oftheir joint accounts.

What's interesting to me is: 1) in 2006 we still have closet/beard issues 2) being gay is still seen as a negative, used as a tool to cause emotional/psychological pain and distress 3) as black gay men even we buy into the game by judging whether or not only the sexy, goodlooking, or muscular "straight" men can or should be gay or on the DL and 4) (to me one of the biggest faux-disclaimers) marriage is a way of legitimizing one's heterosexuality, as if married men are automatically straight, never stray and/or have same-sex desires or sexual interactions. Hmmm

You think Michael Vick is a "pretty man?" Never heard that one before. He is ARGUABLY hot or sexy, but not pretty.

Michael Strahan sounds like a big freak.
He went from a white woman (old azz Jean), to a fine black man (Dr.Ian), to a bisexual black woman (Eva).
Michael is a mess.

Now, look, I've already admitted that it was kinda' pushin' it to call Michael Vick pretty. But if y'all keep on criticizing my choosing him as a male beauty, y'all are gonna' hurt his feelings. He probably checks out this site. Well, somebody may tell him about it...you never know.

Well if you ask me Dr Smith is a definite upgrade. Just curious; Why would Strahan need to move in with Dr Smith, a married man? It's not like he couldn't afford to get a temporary place of his own. This is all very "Invisible Life-esque." Dr Smith is very Raymond Tyler and Strahan is ever so Basil Henderson. Could E Lynn have forseen the future on this one?

Kudos to Mike for admitting his association with many sgl folk. He’s Gene Strahan Sr. son (Mike’s father); therefore, he’s like his two older brothers – respectful, and a gentlemen. So Mike has two failed marriages – what’s new! If he has experimented with a same-sex relationship or in a committed relationship with Ian - Great!
His brother was one of my “road dogs” during junior and senior years of high school in Germany where we all graduated - Mike graduating several years later.
Living and exploring Europe for many years exposes you to that which the American mentality, culture and law deem controversial or morally deviant: If I had to wait till the age of 21 to legally drink – I too would’ve abused alcohol; and sexual identity and individuality is explored and generally accepted more in Europe than our American conformist culture. Therefore, Mike befriending many sgl folk would come as no surprise. Kudos Mike!
The media exposure is Great! If ya didn't know da brotha -ya know him Now!

To Derrick from Philly: it's not that you're a "queen" it's because you're an indiscreet queen. And you're wrong, must DL guys like Mike and Ian love effeminite men. Not so much, because it elevates their masculinity or hides anything. But, because you are a man. They're type.
But enuff of that. I just needed to get that off my chest, cuz I'm tired of Derrick's "Gone with the Wind" melodrama.
What I really wanted to say is this. What's the leading cause of death among Black Men? Let's start with that question and then I'll give my anwer

You Know who,
You know what, everything I said on this subject was meant to be funny. After our last discussion, I realized that I really don't care what men do with their private sex lives, and if you remember, the right of men to be on the DL wasn't the major conflict in our debate. As far as being "indiscreet", I wish I wasn't so damn discreet now. When I'm out in public or even in a gay setting, I bore myself with f___kin' discretion. But I realize that one of consequences of using personal anecdotes in our comments is that sometimes we are going to get uncomplimentary responses. It should be obvious to anyone reading my postings on this subjuct that I was trying to be funny. Self-deprecating humor is one of the classic techniques used by older "queens" to amuse other gay people. And with that, let me get back to Tara...Miss Scarlett is 'bout to birth another baby, and I knows all 'bout birthin' babies.
Melodramatic, hunh? Thanks.

we have no conflict. There is no debate. And self-deprecating humor has been used as a weapon, but it doesn't work. All you succeed in doing is perpetuating the stereotypes. But, let's move on.
You didn't answer my question. "What is the leading cause of death among Black men?" This does have something to do with the "strathan/Smith" controversy

okay, i'll bite. let's see. the leading cause of death?? black men?? and it has to do with ian and mike? okay, let's see. denial? shame?
okay, i'll stop playing. it's HOMICIDE. at least it used to be. so, other than the scenario where the ex-wife kills the cheating husband, what does that have to do with ian and mike??
