Anderson's Coup

anderson cooper CNN announced today that its young handsome news personality Anderson Cooper would replace the older newsman Aaron Brown in Brown's time slot. Cooper, 38, will take his popular "360" show to the 10 p.m. time slot previously held by Brown, 56. Meanwhile, Wolf Blitzer will move to Cooper's old 7 p.m. time slot and Brown will be out of a job.

Anderson Cooper made headlines in September when he led a media revolt against the government's misinformation about Hurricane Katrina. I was sitting in a hotel suite in Atlanta when I saw Cooper challenging Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu, who claimed that things were going well in the hurricane response. "Excuse me, Senator, I'm sorry for interrupting. I haven't heard that, because, for the last four days, I've been seeing dead bodies in the streets here in Mississippi," Cooper retorted. "And to listen to politicians thanking each other and complimenting each other, you know, I got to tell you, there are a lot of people here who are very upset, and very angry, and very frustrated."

Didn't Anderson out himself inadvertently on-air last year??

He is definitely a cute white boi. Fantastic hair. Beautiful eyes. Tight butt. just..kidding.

Laura

I'm still missing him from his days as the host on ABC's "The Mole" ... but I guess he has a right to advance in his career ... sigh ...

P.S. He's Gloria Vanderbilt's son.

Cody

Anderson hooked me last year during the Tsunami.

Dude's got heart. Good move CNN.

It's about time those cable news networks 'got it' that those old fogies anchoring their shows ain't who anyone wants to see. Next they should ditch Paula Zaun and Larry King.

Anderson deserves a Pulitzer prize or an Emmy (which ever is appropriate) for his coverage of Katrina. He was stellar.
I'm really happy for Anderson and sorry for Aaron. Aaron is very compassionate. Aaron should be given Larry's position, but that old bastard has the 9pm slot locked down.

ZEALOUS

IF you have AOL....there's an article on the opening main screen pitting ANDERSON COOPER against FOX's SHEPARD SMITH. I found it funny that these two are viewed as the best in CABLE NEWS...and BOTH are STRONGLY RUMORED to be gay. Wouldn't it be funny if they were messing around with each other......? He is quite attractive.

Then, just as lust is about to take you over, he says something insightful enough to arouse the mind...as well. You gotta love 'em!
