American Candidate

I have exciting news to report! I'm happy to announce that I'm running for American Candidate. For the next few weeks, I will be running a televised campaign on a reality tv show on Showtime, and I need your support. The campaign will begin on Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in New York City at 6 p.m. The location will be announced later today.

American Candidate is a new reality tv show on Showtime in which 12 contestants compete in a series of tests during a simulated presidential campaign. The first test is the campaign announcement. The two candidates with the least number of participants at the campaign rally will face elimination.

I do not want to be eliminated, so I really, really need you to come out to the rally tomorrow night! It's gonna be on television. See you there!!

Best of luck. You have my support but I don't have cable and when I went to that web site you are not listed as a candidate. We can't vote till your are on the ticket. Please advise.

What can one do who doesn't live in your area, participate in supporting you? I am on the website now and I can't seem to find your page or profile.

I am not on the website because the website does not list the finalists. The site only lists the thousands of people who applied.

What a coincidence! American Candidate scouts were observing me at a Marriage Equality meeting
and asked me to submit.
Alas, I have no time. Too busy getting "Shepard/Till-An American Ode" final drafts ready.
Hopefully, this play will bridge the gay/black human rights history divide.
I will be looking for you on Showtime and cheering you on.
Keep us apprised of where you might be landing, I certainly want to meet you the next time you're in LA.
